About Us

Oceanauts Diving was founded by Dain McParland, a Co. Down native from Warrenpoint. Dain first tried SCUBA diving on a family holiday to Greece in his early teens, that first experience sparked a passion for the marine world that only got stronger with time. After earning his first professional certificate in 2008 as a Divemaster, he continued his professional development from there and in 2013 earned his Master Scuba Diver Trainer Certificate. After the following decade teaching scientific diving in the Middle East, Dain decided it was time to come home and bring his skills and passion for the marine realm with him.

Oceanauts Diving is built on a wealth of experience and is committed to providing amazing SCUBA dive training in a safe and welcoming environment. Ireland has a vast array of marine biodiversity and underwater locations on offer to be experienced and enjoyed, we hope to show you what is there, so close, yet just out of reach for most people.

We are passionate about conservation and the protection of marine ecosystems and hope to pass that passion along to our students and divers. We do not want to just train divers, we want to educate people on how to protect the underwater world and understand the environmental issues facing these ecosystems.
